I have no new craft projects to share but wanted to post a quick line to some great ladies I haven't seen in a LONG time. Last night, for the first time since February, I was able to go out to Archiver's with some friends and try and get a little scrapbooking done. I did manage to get a few pages done but the best part was seeing Michelle, Jan, Susan, and Dawn again along with making a couple of new buddies known simply as "#1 and 'Connie'"...SO funny!!! Thanks ladies for a great night of laughing, eating yummy chocolate, AND to getting some pages done!!
Happy New Year!!! Better late than never, I guess! It has been a loooooooooooong time since I have posted but now that the holidays are over, hopefully I can get back to some scrapbooking and coloring with my Copics. I had a CRAZY idea last year to attempt to make my own Christmas cards...yeah right. When I realized that was a little over my head, I decided I was going to make special cards for my mom, my aunt Pookie, aunt Frannie, and uncle Anthony using a great cardinal digital image I got from Designed2Delight. The cardinal is very special to my family and I was reallying hoping I could make something great. I used kraft paper and my Copics...they didn't turn out exactly how I had hoped so...I got NO handmade cards done or sent...another year perhaps.
While we were waiting for the program to start, Lorie and I saw these buffalo hats in the gift shop and they reminded me of the "The Flintstones" and the Grand Poobah hats Fred wore...of course we HAD to put them on. The night Michelle gave us our cups was the night she taught us how to use the Copic Airbrush system. I made the clouds on my cup with the airbrush, I need some practice but it was a lot of fun! Thank you again Michelle! You ROCK!!!! By the way...in case any one would like to check it out...Michelle is getting ready to start another Copic coloring "class" on line over at Get It Scrapped! The last week in June, my sister and her family came back home for a visit from California. It has been a while since her entire family has been back and it was SO good to see them, especially my nieces...how big they are getting. One of the days, my mom wanted a family "photo shoot"...loads of fun. Any hoo...I took this cute picture of my son and my nieces by the lake. I am so thankful they were able to come back, it was a great week!

Ok, today my post has nothing to do with crafting...well, not really. It DOES have to do with the original "potter" who forms each of us everyday. It has been sort of a crazy time for me as of late. Things at work piling up, issues with friends, personal issues...just a lot of STUFF. This morning on my way into work, I turned the radio to a station I haven't listened to in a while and a song was on entitled "This is the Stuff" by Francesca Battistelli. The song hit me HARD! All of the sudden, I found myself smiling and crying all at the same time (I'm sure the other drivers around me were wondering what I was doing). I had been letting the "stuff" of life get to me, forgetting what was really important in life...that I am BLESSED beyond words. Blessed with a wonderful husband and son, a roof over my head, food on our table, a job to go to every day, friends and family. The trials of life shouldn't over-shadow all that He has given me...that is a tough one to remember. I pray that if you are reading this, that our wonderful Father is with you and that He continues to bless you just as He has me. And remember "I've gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing, might not be what I might choose but this is the stuff You use".

Be BLESSED!
